Sunday 21st November 1999 was a historic day for Shadows fans. A crowd of about 800 at the Music Live show at the NEC, Birmingham, were privileged to witness something we thought would never happen again.
At 2 O' Clock, Hank Marvin did his advertised guitar clinic as on he had done on the Saturday but towards the end of the session, he brought the subject of discussion around to the bass solo in NIVRAM. To demonstrate it, he brought on stage the original creator of that great bass part, JET HARRIS..
They played three numbers together, Nivram, Kon-Tiki and Apache, with Ben Marvin playing Rhythm guitar and Kjetil from the Reflections doing the drumming. Jet was using a 1963 Precision bass and it sounded superb!

Jet and Hank playing together for the first time in 37 years - it was a magical feeling watching, listening but hardly daring to believe it was really happening! As you might guess, the audience response was terrific.
I understand that Jet's appearance was unplanned (it was certainly not advertised), having been arranged only two hours earlier, at midday .
